CCR #4

For my CCR 4, I used Canva. I wanted to experience making an infographic and felt that Canva was just right because I have used it before and have experience working with it, just never made an infographic before, and I think it turned out pretty well. In this CCR, I discuss how what technology I used for my magazine. I included what hardware, software, and online things I used, including cameras, apps, and websites. I am happy with how this CCR turned out considering it is my first infographic.

CCR #3

For my CCR 3, I chose to do a video because it felt like the best way to answer this question. It didn't feel comfortable for me to talk about my personal production skills on a Slideshow rather than a camera. In this CCR, I talk about how my production skills developed through media studies, as well as what my skills looked like before media studies and how they look now. I also discussed how I could use these skills later on.

CCR #2

For my CCR 2, I used Emaze. Looking at this software, It looked similar to PowerPoint, so I decided to use it for my second CCR. In my CCR, I discuss where by magazine would be distributed as well as what my target audience is. At the beginning of the year, I wanted my magazine to be in physical stores, but as the year progressed, decided to put it online, and on social media. I included pictures of my audience and the location of a physical store where my magazine would be available. I think I did pretty well on this CCR.

CCR #1

For my CCR 1, I used PowerPoint because I wanted something easy to use for my first answer. In my video, I discussed the conventions of my Cover, Table of contents, and Two-page spread. I talked about how my magazine pages used conventions of similar magazine pages as well as challenging the conventions of what I thought wouldn't fit in or would at least work better for that specific page.

Preparing for the CCR questions

Image
Before answering my CCR questions, I had to pick what platforms I wanted to use to present my answers. I chose to do mine on PowerPoint, Emaze, A video on my phone, and Canva. I had to design my layouts before I recorded my CRRs. CCR 1 For my CCR 1, I used Powerpoint. I chose to use PowerPoint because I thought it would be easy to switch from one slide to the next with the click of my space bar. I also used it because I wanted to use something I am familiar with to get used to answering the CCRs. You can see here the Layout design of my Presentation. When on the PowerPoint, it would start at the top left slide, then go to the slide on the right, then on the next row, back to the slide on the left, and so on. this gave me an easy method of answering the CCR question for the Cover, Table of contents, and Two-page spread while also being efficient. CCR 2 For my CCR 2, I used Emaze. Since I felt comfortable answering the CCRs, I decided to use different software that looked similar to...

Final magazine

Image
After many months of working, my magazine has been finalized. I am excited and proud of myself for how the final product turned out. Overall, my final designs mostly stayed the same as my original ones. I am happy I took this class and was able to expand my knowledge in photo editing and writing. I am now able to take this knowledge into further career options. I learned a lot about what the viewer wants, what catches the viewer's attention, and what good pictures look like. I learned a lot of different terminology.   Cover Table of contents Two-page spread

Designing the table of contents

Image
For my table of contents, I chose to focus on the nature aspect of the magazine and have pictures over the left, top, and bottom. When doing my ladder assignment, instead of being lazy and making 8 pages on 1 topic that could summarized in 2 pages, I chose to make more pages so I can fit the most information in my magazine. I designed to have the viewer see the picture of the water first, then look to the right to see the page numbers. My original design can be seen below.  Next was going out to take pictures of water, fish, and the view of nature. I thought this was going to be easy, but boy was I wrong. I tried for over 3 months to catch fish but nothing wanted to bite my hook. It was only the week before I had to design my Cover, Table of contents, and Two page spread that I finally got a fish to bite. I originally wanted a bass, but after waiting 3 months to catch anything, I decided I wasn't going to be picky. The final product of my Table of contents is below.  Signing o...
